Probably not.

I don't drive, but as a passenger I usually only put on my seatbelt if the driver asks me to.

I thought more people would be non-belt users on CE honestly. I was thinking it was gonna be closer to a 50/50 result. I'm proud of you guys for being safe.

So considering there are zero votes for "no seat belt laws where i'm from" is this a universal law across most nations?

I have no clue how the UK, Australia, Mexico, Canada handles things like this. Is it a law there? Or is it just common sense to wear it?

There are the idiots who read about that one incident that the person not wearing a seatbelt survived, whilst the one that did died. Like how dumb people think wearing steel toed boots is bad for you in areas that can drop stuff that turns your toes into jelly.

If it was never a law? Maybe not, or at best I'd wear it infrequently. It'd be like not wearing a bike helmet as a kid, because you assume that nothing will happen to you and don't take it seriously.

If they just suddenly repealed it today? I'd keep wearing it out of habit and because I really don't notice it at all once it's on. Obviously it's a no-brainer and could really save your life if you were in a decent wreck.

It sounds like you have it too tight and/or are snapping forward. Never had it lock up on me in that situation before, in any car I've had or driven.

Turn your head?

There is an intersection I turn at every day that is at an odd angle, where I really can't turn my head far enough to see without aldo turning my shoulders, but it's also on a hill so the side mirrors don't help either.

So I mean, it could happen.

But it's ridiculous to forego a seat belt for the weird offhand cases like that.

Really stretching with this one. You could just admit you dont like wearing a seatbelt and dont care about the potential consequences rather than straining to come up with ridiculous things like this.

It's around a local city, and the ramps are curved. Slightly turning your body when the g forces from turning are applied is enough to lock up the seatbelt in some vehicles.
