The publisher should have realized that they would get backlash for making the game an Epic Store Exclusive especially after saying it would be a Steam game for so long, but some PC gamers are embarrassing themselves the way they are acting. If the really hate Epic Game Store that much, they could always get the PS4 version.

The result of this is that we aren't going to get accurate reviews of the game. Interestingly enough, Shenmue 3 will be a game that the only way to know how good it is is to play it yourself.

...Which is...not flattering tbh. We're in the PS4/XB1 era and it looks like an upressed Dreamcast game.

But Shenmue 3 will be fine is Yu just says he's ignorant of the publishers workings and wont use them again

I think all these epic deals were signed before the backlash began since most of them have been announced relatively recently.

This is more a result of taking a deal with no idea how it would be percieved and then being too deep in legally to back out once shit started hitting the fan.

It really doesn't look that bad. That said, when you compare to something like the recent Yakuza games(which are damn similar games), it looks like a joke.

did not know that. I thought 3 was gonna end it. well I hope it does good and they keep making sequels. it's gonna suck if after 20 years, we get one more game and they choose not to finish the story...and then they can't make anymore. and we STILL never get the ending . that would piss me off

Well, Shenmue is weird like that. Suzuki likes to stick to his plans, and treats games as art. I kinda rather this way of doing things; Im sure we'd get a web comic or something if Shenmue 4 never comes about.

Im kinda hoping that most of the resources used to make this game will make it cheaper/faster to make the rest.

It might be the last game but it's somewhere around halfway through the story. IIRC, from almost two decades ago, it's supposed to be an 18 chapter story. The first game got through 3-4 chapters or something

So maybe 3 puts us at 60% through and I flipped the numbers
