If it's between terminating at an associate's level or going to trade school, I say trade school.

Community college is not really a viable terminal educational step if you're looking for a marketable career choice. It's just a more economical option both for people returning to higher education, or going through a bachelor's level or above to go through community college for those first two years. The only exception being if you plan beyond a bachelor's level from the get go and you want the resources of a four-year university in terms of research opportunity and networking to make you more competitive.

My brother has a degree in communications and went to trade school for welding and he ended up in a contract position, wasn't making that much. Does this apply only to certain trades?

Hmm didnt consider that i guess it does matter or more importantly what certifications or licenses you get? Idk me and old coworker of mine started off at our job and our apprenticeship at the same time and mid-way through school he got approached by another employer who offered him a junior project estimator position. He went over and they started him off higher than what im making now as a 4th year student. Dude is also continuing his apprenticeship so when he tests out and gets his journeymans license (which alot of people in office postions in the industry dont have) he'll be boss man somewhere in 5 years top

Wanna work in your field right after graduation? Trade school.

Wanna pursue an education that goes beyond a 4 year degree? CC.

A Bachelor's is nothing, so imagine how laughable an Associate's is.

Honestly instead of going to community college you should get get a degree from Southern New Hampshire University. Cheap and respected, you can do it all online and then you get your BA or BS.
