I purchased a book for 1 cent. It was $3.50 shipping, so they're probably making money there, trying to unload it that way

I ordered it yesterday, but if I look at the page, it's still visible. Couldn't someone else try to order it too? You'd think it would be gone by now.

Amazon has a lot of sellers that are not actually Amazon, just stores allowed to sell on their platform. It's possible you bought the book from one of those. It wouldn't be uncommon for some retailers to have tons of copies of something, even used.

I picked up a used book the other day from such a seller on Amazon and it is still in stock as well.

I buy used stuff on amazon too. I've never had an issue. It's possible they have more than 1 copy but they don't want to list it multiple times to avoid multiple listing fees.
