I don't know how the fuck any human being would enjoy being stuck in the same indoor environment every single day for many years and not lose their god damn minds. Video games and TV don't exactly curb that

Isn't that the usual 9 to 5 life with occasional shitty beach trips and going to the same few parks otherwise?

No it isn't. How is doing a variety of different things in the same category as being a NEET sitting in the same building doing the same shit every day with no opportunity to go anywhere they wanted

While a working person can get tired of the monotonous procedure, they still have the opportunity to make plans for new and exciting things. A NEET or a prisoner can't do shit. They're just stuck in the house (or jail) doing the same shit every single day.

How much of your time is spent doing new and exciting things? When I here people making plans, it's for a movie, club, or restaurant. Unless you really crave interacting with strangers or travel without destination to unknown locations, the prison already has you covered, with the best restaurant and free reign of the entire facility.

You mean like watching movies without a potentially disruptive crowd, and eating the best meals from the best chef with the best ingredients, at custom order, for free?

It seems bad, but consider how limited the average person's scope is, anyway.

Y'all dudes saying "what's the downside" like you don't value freedom

People don't seem to realize how little 200k over 15 years is. Because I easily make that 200k in 15 years. To give you an idea, 200k over 15 years amounts to 13.333 dollars per year. If you work minimum wage 15 dollars 40 hours a week with 2 weeks vacation you make a clean 30k per year, times 15 years is 450k. That is excluding any bonuses and stuff.

Not giving up 15 years of my life for that bullshit, being locked up is no joke and being unable to go anywhere is just not acceptable.

Except you are constantly getting the newest video games and the newest consoles for free, and the best food for free. On top of that I think the only thing you can't do is leave the prison. So if you need "company" you just bring visitors.

Right now, it may sound appealing, but sitting in one place for too long would make me lose my mind, let alone for 15 years. I want to do what I please without being restricted.

You're still sitting in the same place... playing video games... every day. You're going to get sick of that. Very easily.

I wouldn't want to waste my 30s and part of my 40s in jail for no amount of money. How do you even market yourself as an employee after 15 years of being cut off from society?

Well Idk about this scenario but prisons (at least here) offer aome free college classes. Learn a new profession get someone from the prison to vouche for the the fact you where there 15 years. Usually in my expierence thats employers biggest thing is wanting to know why there is a gap in employment. If you can give a good enough reason they usually let it by

Yes but you don't have to work. You don't have to pay the bills to put food on the table or have a roof over your head. You are not paying taxes, nothing, on top of that you are getting the best food.

The other issue is education, since you can't leave the prison you can't go to school, you have to be self taught through books and the internet.

For you and others maybe, and I'm not going to knock your hobbies and interests in that regards.

But for me personally "outings" hold zero or even negative appeal, there just isn't anything I enjoy about venturing outside.

Even at 10 dollars per hour that amounts to 300k over 15 years, even without inflation and increase of your wages and excluding bonuses and such.

That's assuming you're good enough to get a job in the first place, which has never been the case with me.
