No one listens to my recs ever

But the Oryx and Crake trilogy is my recommendation

It's not hard sci fi, it's technically speculative fiction, but still

After having watched The Expanse, I decided to pick up Leviathan Wakes (first book in the series). Even though I already know the plot (of the first 3 seasons, which correspond to the first 3 books I think), it's well written and I'm engaged even from the first few chapters. I'm hoping it expands on a bit more than the series does and it's nice that there are quite a few more books out compared to the TV series because I'm impatient and want to know what happens.

The two aren't the same type of scifi. A closer comparison would be Rama>>>>>>>>>>>Ringworld
