Alright so you're basically playing all new characters because after the first game Don Corneo (who survived off camera) came back and killed all the original protagonists and Aerith didn't actually die after getting stabbed by Sephiroth she was just comatose so after sinking in the water she merged with what was left of Jenova and becomes the Devourer of Lifestream and is the new final boss.

Ok here we go....
Cloud is now an alcoholic trying to drink away his memories until tifa shows up with news that sephiroth has returned! Cloud then prepares for battle by calling all his friends and getting the highwind to pick him up via Uber. After many savage and extreme adventures they find themselves face to face against sephiroth.....hes mad strong, like super strong. Who comes in to save the day?
None other than the mighty batman! They go toe to toe. Clouds team is recovering! Oh man whats gonna happen?
Suddenly spiderman swings in from behind sephiroth and webs his legs. Batman gets slashed by a massive blow from sephiroth before he falls, but manages to get off a few explosive batarangs. They hit! Spidy is still struggling to hold this guy down until who steps in? Rocky Balboa!!!!! Sephiroth cant move so rocky has the advantage! Rocky uses the ole one-two and stuns sephiroth, but sephiroth has magic and shit on his side, so he uses his signature super nova move! Oh man, what can our heroes do? Fuck its looking hopeless for our heroes! But then Bruce Willis comes in and destroys the asteroid before it reaches the sun. Cloud and company are back, but barret has made some mad sick improvements to his gun. Suprise motherfucker he yells as he charges up his gun and incinerates sephiroth....game over bitch as he turns and walks away....

Maybe Genesis will revive Sephiroth and they merge together to form Geneiroth, The Black Angel with a Masamune in one hand, a copy of LOVELESS in the other and as he reads poems he slashes with his sword combined with epic headshots with the book.

I want a crisis core remake with a decent battle system. By far my favorite game from the final fantasy series as a whole aside from the weak combat. But it was a PSP game so whatever.
