OP is referring to a lot of things that news/internet articles are covering lately simply because it gets a lot of views. For instance, I'm pretty sure police shootings have been steady or a very slight decline since 2015. We just started addressing the issue heavily because it gets a lot of ratings and, ya know is fucking wrong and should be stopped. It still doesn't mean it's getting worse.
