people do some stupid shit and if not that it's a shield dodging match combined with the latency online(although it's gotten a lot better, before it would take like 3 seconds for inputs to register) just makes the 1v1s not very fun to do.

I realize I'm gonna get some "lol gg u just suck it's tons of fun pretending it's more than a casual fighter!" but I want to have fun ya know.. sometimes i feel like my button inputs don't even register. Meh. If the online wasn't only $20 a yeari would have given up by now

Might as well put the controller down and eat a 0-80% combo and wait for your opponent to fuck up because you sure as fuck arent gonna be able to DI or tech out of the combo with how fucking atrocious the lag is lol.

Play offline. The same combo would do like 12-25% because you know, lag guarantees a horseshit combo when you are trying to get out of something the game thinks happened literally 10 seconds ago.

Tilts that are tied to the right stick are tricky. You're doing it wrong honestly. The stick needs to be "reset to 0" in order for the tilt to register. You're better off releasing the stick altogether and then inputting the tilt again.

I had the same issue at first. The game reads the tilt stick as direction plus attack, not just directional attack, if that makes any sense.

Also, if you're losing against people who are constantly dodging then you are doing something wrong lol dodging has been nerfed hard.

i wouldn't call it losing. I tend to win most of these battles but when the match is just them shielding then rolling, the input lag i tend to get from those kinds of players makes me miss counter attack opportunities to fully punish them, it's easier to do offline but i'm too much of a twitch reacter for online play i guess.

I did, only x and y jump and the right stick is supposed to be my tilt attacks but that's being pretty janky right now

It's not me, i'm on the 5Ghz band in the same room as my router with my switch being the only one on the 5Ghz connection. It legit had huge delays for me prior to the patch, i acknowledged it's a lot better now(only a second or two of lag and I have my TV in game mode) but it's just everyone plays like a huge tryhard and nobody seems to play just to have fun

Literally just either walk after them or turn around a grab. Depending on their habits. Just lol if they roll behind you. It guarantees you fucking them up.

Oh I gotcha, yeah I agree then it's overall bad. Especially when Melee emulators on PC have like, amazing connection a lot of the time.

To me, being a tryhard is fine if you're actually interacting and playing neutral. I heavily dislike the projectile spam meta that's forming though, and can agree it's unfun to play.

You can either learn to beat the spammers, or get a group of friends in a battle arena!
