Nothing in the law is outlawing private breeding. It literally says individuals are still able to. Adopting a cat or dog at a store or shelter runs you about $100-$150 and there's a huge vetting process. Meanwhile, kittens and puppies go for $25-$50 on CL and the exotic ones for about $100-$200. I've worked in several shelters so the conditions of these animals is usual worse than that of a breeder with a huge space that allows everyone to roam, creating better socialization. --- "Scranton is great, but New York is like Scranton on acid. I think you're greatly overestimating the ability to breed privately without government approval Government approval is not required in all cases. Dude, I'm not sure what your point is anymore. Cutting out a source of income for people will result in them moving elsewhere, not stopping. This has been proven in other areas time and time again. Not every breeder selling to stores is licensed. Stores are allowed to accept regardless. Now they are not, so these people who just had their income disappear are not going to stop and it won't lead to any raids or whatever nonsense you're trying to point out because it's not illegal to private breed. --- "Scranton is great, but New York is like Scranton on acid. LockeMonster posted...catboy0_0 posted...I think you're greatly overestimating the ability to breed privately without government approval Why should what be subsidized by the government? Their shelter housing and euthanization? Because nothing proves that by removing a source of animals, will it stop anything when there's another avenue available. The law is literally saying stores won't buy your animals, but as a private breeder, you can sell to individuals. That's not stopping anything. It's in fact pushing everyone towards a totally unregulated market on CL. --- "Scranton is great, but New York is like Scranton on acid. No, on speed. Nah. On steroids." FC: 3282-3258-0224 ...
