Is Disney paying media companies and review sites/reviewers to overhype their content?

What do you think?

no but i think that a lot of their properties, especially star wars & marvel, have entered the "too big to fail" territory and a lot of reviewers have that in mind at all times

I'm sure most major content creating companies have, at various times, paid reviewers.

But we now live in an age of readily accessible information so you can always just use review aggregate sites that will give the wider opinions out there.

Probably not direct payoffs, but anyone who gets regularly invited to those Disney events are 100% in the pocket of the company.

It's like the with regular news media. If you play ball, the powers that be give you greater access/exclusives as a reward.

Yes, this is why A Wrinkle In Time, a massive Disney marketed venture, reviewed so middling with critics and barely made back its budget at the box office.

They have thrown a few hinky, off-track examples so people would look away and not notice what theyre up to.

This is how conspiracies work.

Reject all the common sense stuff as part of the coverup, because apparently anyone's got that kind of time and effort.

And make a large, HEAVILY marketed film with massive star power bomb to maintain the conspiracy.
