I knew from the beginning that the girl I just started dating was going through a divorce. I wasn't going to hold my breath but she's so awesome, I decided to chance it and date her. She's amazing. I found out about 2 weeks ago that he has "multiple properties and businesses everywhere", is fighting the divorce, and she says she is going to win the case... with a few thousand dollars that she has spent a long time saving and has been talking to a lawyer and doing paperwork.

She's literally the best person I've ever known but now I feel like crawling into a hole and an hero. We have talked about it. Everyone is calling me a side dude and saying she'll never leave him... and I'm just kinda waiting for that to happen. She skips out of massive amounts of sleep to spend time with me and is the most affectionate person I've ever been close to. Not sure what do.

How is she going to win? He will never be fully gone, if she does. He could lure her back so many ways. Many many things. Few details I didn't list because it's complicated enough already.

What do you mean by win the divorce? Is it about splitting up the property? I see what you mean though. She's used to being taken care of and you can't offer as much. But it sounds like you give her something that's more important than that.

She's divorcing him for a reason mate. And if she was going to go back to him she wouldn't be taking him to the cleaners in court.

She said the state laws are different if the divorce is not a mutual agreement. I've asked people and they said her claims are true. Something about; if she forces a divorce without him, she loses more than just money apparently. But if she goes a more complicated route, she can do some kind of lawsuit thing to force him into agreement?

I honestly don't remember how she explained it but it sounded like that. I don't even think she'll get a settlement...? - and I could care less honestly. I just want him gone. But I'm expecting to wake up to a text one day saying "he just bought me an island in the middle of the ocean and a new mansion, goodbye good luck". I told her that and she said she's expecting me to do the same thing because she considers me much more attractive than her... which is insane... and such a little reason compared to my concerns.

I'm gonna be straight with you, because it sounds like you need it.

Your concerns are the result of pure inferiority because you found out he has cheese. Get rich or get over it, but you're harming your relationship with this nonsensical BS you're agonizing about.

And in the event she DOES decide to go back to him purely because of money, you've dodge a huge bullet. Where's your loss?

Any reason you didn't give me the option to walk away?

You could always do that.

But at this point that'd be extremely rash, somewhat pathetic, and make me question you ever having a stable relationship with anyone else who has a previous dating history that'll make you insecure.

Do they have kids together? If so, they'll always be tied together. If not, then yeah, it's pretty damn final.
