Its kind of pathetic that this happens enough that it requires legislative action.

One of the most recent incidents was at a North Carolina convenience store called Sheetz. Reddit user Leicina posted her account of several pickup-trucks pulling in to block all the Tesla supercharging stations spots.

Ive never had a supercharging experience like this one, she wrote. These trucks blocked all the chargers, chanted F Tesla, and were kicked out by a Sheetz employee.

But we arent talking about coal rolling. And that isnt exclusive to rural areas so itd be hard to believe someone has never witnessed that anyway.

Sure we are, it's right in the opening of the article as the predecessor to this new phenomenon that's fueled (no pun intended) by the exact same sentiment.

The laws linked in the article for Florida and Washington have been in place since 2012 and 2013, respectively. Which leads me to believe that said laws are, again, akin to fire lane and handicap parking laws.

There is no doubt that people park in those spots when they arent supposed tojust like people who park in handicapped spaces, fire lanes, and even regular gas pumps (though that isnt legal, the point being the convenience). But to act like there is a sudden rise of people purposefully blocking the charging stations to screw over electric vehicle drivers is an exaggeration and articles like this are doing more harm than good by making something more of a thing than it likely is to begin with.

Im not implying the article is telling them to do anything. Im saying its bringing attention to something that likely doesnt need attention at all. The more attention it gets, the more possibilities of people being inspired to do it.

Most people that drive big pickups are dipshit manlets, especially in the region of the country where I live. I have a midsize pickup with a camper shell that I use for camping, light off-roading, and hauling furniture for friends when they move or need to take stuff to the landfill. Its only a 4 cylinder so I cant drive like an asshole even if I wanted to.
