I haven't watched the documentary you mentioned, but I've read all about TempleOS before. It would have been neat if the guy who made it wasn't mentally ill.

Terry was literally insane but kind of a genius as well... not uncommon I suppose.

I've been following Terry for a bit before his death back in August. I remember going into his TempleOS chat and he would talk about his squeaky aliens and other things.

Really sad stuff. Especially when you watch his last video.

It's a series of YouTube videos by Fredrik Knudsen and they are mostly a bit of history and introspection about bizarre or otherwise curious subjects. He's made one on furries, DarkSyde Phil, the Final Fantasy House, the SCP Foundation, ChrisChan and Sonichu, etc. And now one on TempleOS and Terry Davis.

Similarly, Mister Metokur has made videos about such things. He's made one about Terry Davis, a series on Channel Awesome figures, Bulbagarden, Wings of Redemption, Kurt Eichenwald, Randy Stair and the EGS, Nick Bates, etc. Though Metokur's videos usually include more ridicule and mockery that Knudsen doesn't.

Maybe but I've listened to Terry a lot and part of me thinks that's more his mental illness talking when he goes on tirades. Like he used the N word as a standard slur and didn't seem particularly directed. In his more lucid moments, which there's a bit of near the end, he seems like a pretty nice guy.

Just shows you how such things can really turn you into someone else entirely. Maybe he was a racist but I always found it hard to really pin that label on him due to his circumstances.

Nah. Jim is an oldschool internet troll and Sargon is a hypocritical buffoon who thinks he is smarter than he is and can't handle it when people make fun of him. This little feud started because Sargon got mad that Jim wouldn't take "the issues" as seriously as Sargon does and Jim mocked Sargon like he mocks and ridicules every lolcow or dipshit.

That's what Sargon is now. A big, fat lolcow who turns everything he touches to shit.

I havent seen any studies about it, but years ago when I was fascinated with mental illnesses I read a lot about schizophrenia and people who suffered from it and racism was relatively common amongst aggressive schizophrenics. More specifically, it was very common for them to have a deep hatred towards people they believed to be in power over everything and for some reason it was usually black people or Jews.

At first I figured it was environmental. Racism mostly is. He lived with his parents, and I figured his father may have been.

Nope. That video where he's yelling at them, and his dad says something like "how can you love God and hate some people when He loves everyone?" That was ALL Terry. He was isolated, and he convinced himself certain groups were in control over him. That was a complete product of his schizophrenia.

Watched it yesterday. I felt a lot of sympathy for the guy.

He could have done pretty good things had he actually gotten the help he needed. What a waste of a life.
