Del Toro was only offered a producer position instead of writer/director so he said no thanks. Perlman refused to come back without Del Toro. I don't know what they were thinking cutting Del Toro back to just a producer. That was a stupid move on their part. His vision is what made the first two so successful. I want to watch the new one and I want it to be good. But fuck reboots. Especially after only 2 movies.
