Side effects arent too bad but it does make me feel a good chunk more exhausted than usual, messes with my sleep, and I also had random panic attacks on a few occasions.

It is working to lighten my depression, but Im hitting my monthly lows and I still kinda dont wanna be alive rn.

I need to make a counseling appointment; I think I need more coping techniques to learn to deal with my thoughts rather than throwing more meds at it.

Im taking a very low dose too, and dont wanna increase it just yet.

You need to keep up with your combo therapy
Meds don't work in a vacuum.
Plus isn't zoloft addictive as fuck? Probably want to switch to something that isn't.

What did your panic attacks feel like? I made a topic like a month ago about panic attacks and quite a few people here has experienced them. I got rid of mine fast(or so it seems) but my technique would not work for others.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Works better than any antidepressant IMO. Now that Ive got it down pat I dont see anyone anymore either.

https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/basics/cognitive-behavioral-therapy

https://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/cognitive-behavioral-therapy/about/pac-20384610

It has worked wonders for me. I havent been on antidepressants for fours years now. It has helped immensely in my career as well for stress management.

Im not aware of zoloft being particularly addictive, but many such medications do result in physical dependency. Ive missed a dose here and there and had no ill effects tbh.

They keep me alive and not crying 24/7. It took a few weeks to get the combination right.

Let it be known that I, of my own thinking, figured out that my 6 AM anti-diarrhea medicine was screwing up my morning Effexor.

Not bad for a silly Communication major.

I feel like I used this but it just came naturally for me. There were a few years where I wanted to just get prescribed something that would make me high until the clock ran out. But eventually I climbed out of that mindstate. And through all my physical pains and shit now my thinking has a lot more shallow of a bottom. I still have no ambition tho. I need to work on that

It felt like my physical sensation was what triggered my mind racing but after being in it for 10 seconds it got blurry on if the physical part was causing the mental part or vice versa. Lexapro is a common starter anti anxiety med, aka escitalopram. I'm on it and have no ill effects, though I'm apparently on the max dose anyone is comfortable prescribing. It doesn't go high.

CBT should come well before meds, your shrink isn't doing things correctly for you. You need to ask them what prompted them to medicate you without therapy and thoroughly grill them on the issue.

I just started sertraline/zoloft a week ago. first 6 days at 25mg, today will be my first 50mg, and supposedly I'll be on this stuff for roughly 1.7 years.

Makes me drowsy and dulls the worst parts of my downs, but aside from headaches and nausea the first few days, it's been okay. If anything, the best effect so far is that I can sleep normally.

Probably easier to change doctors. Some doctors are prideful and think they're patience don't know shit. Ive had my share. I had a doctor tell me I lost 15 pounds cause his scale was broken. And still questioned me about it after I told him how I know for a fact I didn't. I weigh 130 pounds, if I lost 15 it would be noticable. Dude must of been on something

I literally feel pain everyday that stops me from living anywhere near to a full life. I somehow am still able to be the vocally optimistic voice of my group. I feel like a lot of people with shitty family have it worse than me even though I pretty much felt like any fulfilling life I could of had was blocked at 20. I no longer am depressed when I write shit like that >_>. It is what it is.

It's so much easier to just pretend this isn't actually true lol. But it definitely is. Even when I just convince myself to get up and do 15-20 push ups (I max out here when I haven't been working out) and 15-20 situps I end up feeling better.
