I honestly totally forgot that O'Dimm was in the main story until after I beat it. Pretty cool that they did that.

Hearts of Stone had a fantastic story in general, really. B&W is a bit better as far as DLC goes, but I loved the HoS plotline.

If you're wandering around some of the remote villages in the DLC you may hear kids playing and singing this song

That's how I thought of him too. I saw some article where he's in the background of scenes he's not even a part of just observing, but that could be just using a recycled character model. Interesting character for sure

One of the best game villains in anything I've played in quite a long while, but I mean, he's such a classic archetype that it's hard to fuck him up.

And I find it delightfully fitting that you beat him without ever drawing your sword

He's basically a Faustian demon. There are some obvious parallels with other versions such as the meeting in "Rome" in an inn called "Rome" and meeting on the "Moon" on a carving of the moon.

Also, Olgrid is basically a dead ringer looks wise for the version of him in a 1930s Polish movie.

Its also really easy to make something like that mundane since it can be so cliche. They did a really good job of keeping classic tropes but also making him seem fresh. O'Dimm is probably my favorite video gamed villain besides the Patriots from MGS2.
