The driver with the fat girl riding on the back literally cut infront of and knocked off the motorcyclist on the right, the "crash" would not have happened if the driver with the fat girl was not being stupid, also what idiot rides with fucking shorts ?!

They will both have road rash, and the girl's head had no protection so head injury happened too.

They tell you to wear protective gear for a reason, and even the guy they bumped into had a helmet, and was protected for his arms and legs.

I mean I guess I can understand the libertarian aspect of it, but like if you fall going like 10 mph (which happens more than you'd think as low speed maneuvers can be fairly difficult) and you happen to hit your head on a curb with a helmet it might hurt, maybe even a concussion, but you'll be ok. You do that without a helmet you have a strong chance of dying splitting your skull open.

The high speed crashes are probably still going to kill you with or without a helmet. But it's the low speed crashes where the equipment really makes a difference.

Thing is the driver never should have let her ride without a helmet, he is responsible for her once she gets on his motorcycle.

Riding a motorcycle is a lit of fun but you need to be smart about it, even outlaw bikers wear more protective gear then what the two of these people had on put together.

i can agree with that. even if the helmet protects just once against a major spill and the helmet is destroyed after. better the helmet than the head.

I ride a motorcycle and even if I had a choice I would still wear my helmet and I use a full helmet, not a lid. I just imagine sliding head first and grinding my lower jaw into paste and that's incentive enough for me.

I'd never have even attempted to split lanes if one of those lanes was occupied by another motorcycle. You don't know if that other motorcycle is going to try splitting lanes as you're trying to. Can't exactly say the driver is blameless here either.

I went down on a bike as a very inexperienced rider and hit my head with a helmet on. Was out cold in the middle of an intersection and the helmet was all fucked up. There is little doubt in my mind I would have died without the helmet. I had concussions in the past but that was completely different and I feel the effects still (been years). Gave up riding after that. (been looking at Honda Groms lately though)

Its not wrong since any smart rider will tell you the helmet has saved their life at some point. Everyone fucks up on their motorcycle at some point, if you have a helmet and good protective gear you likely live to tell the tale, if not then road rash and brain damage are in your future.

There is a reason the helmet law exists most places, it is to give people the highest chance of survival and to protect a vital part of the body. I would not be surprised if the girl died in the video the way she seemed to hit the ground with her head.

As anyone who does amateur wrestling will tell you, putting your hands out when falling will result in broken wrists/elbows/shoulders. In an accident like this you can't break your fall with your arms, though you can cover your head to absorb impacts to it if needed. Her arms would have buckled and her head would have hit with just as much force, just a split second later.

It's much better to absord impacts passively with your shoulders.
