Arabs ARE white.

Hispanics are being intergrated with whites. Hence, non Hispanics whites.

Hispanics are mixing with black people... It is well documented that their is a significant admixture of both indigenous and black in their culture. See Hispanic rap, etc.

Not all Arabs are White. A lot of Syrians and Lebanese people are White but have you seen Arabs from Saudi, Oman, Qatar, etc... most aren't White.

I think maybe because Whites are more open to interracial dating?

Latin America is a pretty diverse region with a lot of different people living there. Heck, one of the whitest guys that I know of is an illegal from Monterrey.

Historically speaking, Europe was a hotbed of imperialism. White people colonized places on every continent. Other empires did it, but not to the same degree and not as much after Industrialization.

Then you have some bias because most of us are in predominately white countries.

Then you have the fact that the vast majority of us are actually living in, or recieve the lion's share of our media, from a literal colony that was founded by mass importing people, either willingly or not, to it.

Oh, and I'm sure there is a degree of ignorance based on people not actually being able to notice the difference in non-white races and just assume everyone is one or the other.

Latino is usually considered an ethnicity, not a race. That's why you see White Hispanic, etc.

The most common response I've seen is that the large slave population that was brought to Mexico either died or melted into the general population a long time ago. The definition of black or brown is very different in Latin America in general than it is in the US.

IIRC slavery wasn't much a thing in Mexico. At least not compared to South America and the Caribbean, according to wikipedia only about 200,000 African slaves were brought into New Spain. Afro-Mexicans make up about 1% of Mexico's overall population and maybe even less are descendants of slaves brought here.

However there are some famous Afro-Mexicans like Vicente Guerrero who was the 2nd president of Mexico and has a state named after him, possibly making him the first black president in North America.

I understand whites are more common in countries where whites are more common. Duh. I'm asking why the non-whites who ARE here dont mix as commonly percentage-wise. It's not like we don't have a big enough sample size of non-whites like they're that rare.

Also, new sub-topic: What about double standards like "Dear White People" and "BET" and other things that wouldnt fly if the roles were reversed? What's your justification for the whole "whites can't experience racism" bullshit? Cuz i'm white. And I feel it everytime I hear that. Which is a lot more common than "blacks cant experience racism." No one would ever say that.

Of course it is, but it's important to remember that being a social construct doesn't mean it isn't real and have an influence on our daily lives. Laws, countries, money, etc. these are social constructs, and have pretty big impacts on how we live.

Many, MANY Hispanics are white, even in Latin America. The reason theyre not considered white is because many are brown (thus not white) and the ones who are actually white have to meet a stupid standard to be considered so by WASPS, basically if theyre not paper pale and blonde and with blue eyes theyre brown too, which is stupid since by those standards people like Don Jr wouldnt be white either

Some of the concept of race is biological: there are 3 main races, white, black and Asian.

No. You are conflating a continuum of genetic variation with the social construct of race. Genes vary across and within populations. That's biology. The categories of race are entirely social constructs. There is no biological relevance to it. You can group clusters of genes together that many people in a geographic area have and call it a race but it's arbitrary. There is relevance to certain gene clusters, especially for medicine, but again it's the genes that matter, not the race.

In the US race is almost exclusively used to refer to cultural groups. Which is why African immigrants often aren't considered black. And why someone could say act "white" when obviously you can't act a set of genetic traits. These things are all derived from culture. Skin color is just often a prominent feature of a cultural group in the US. But as you can see from people saying things like Clinton was the first black president, it is primarily culture, not genes in the US that we associate with a racial group.
