I bought two DS4's and I was asked if I want to buy a warranty. I usually say: "No, thank you...don't most products have a 1-year manufacturer's warranty?"

And yes, they do have a 1 year warranty from the date of purchase.

Maybe they have 2 year warranties, which would make sense but I am pretty sure I heard them talkin' about a 1 year protection for like 5 bucks.

Some of those warranties cover things the manufacturer's warranty doesn't cover, even if they don't extend the length.

However, not all sellers are that honest - some literally provide nothing over what the manufacturer's warranty and/or local law already provide, and really are just trying to make a quick buck. There's no substitute for doing your research on the *specific* case.

Like I just say no to every thing the cashier says, even if they ask if I wanna preorder a game when Im there to preorder a game; Im just trained to say no then go about my business like I never heard them.

Im sure parents who dont know better get them. They figure their kids will scratch them or break them like any other toy and since theyre paying so much theyre talked into getting it.
