I love cats, but I think having a dog is more of an emotionally supportive choice. If you don't need the companionship of a dog, though, cats are amazing.

Why not both? Although you'd have to get both relatively young so they can bond together.

i really cant answer that. both have their large merits which comes down to your own personality. cats arnt really dependable in the same way as a dog can be, but they are largely self reliant (and serious killers in certain conditions which can be more useful) while dogs constantly need your attention, but can potentially mean a bigger bond.

i will say that the best animal iv owned (and iv owned a lot of both) was a cat.

I have two of each, and there are pros and cons to each.

Dogs require more attention, but they're more actively loving and more responsive to commands. They're pretty consistent and will generally always want love and attention.

Cats are much more self-reliant, but you never know what you'll get with their attitudes. They can knead you, nuzzle against you, purr, and fall asleep...then wake up and want to go off on their own and they'll run from you.

They both make for great pets, at the end of the day.

If you have an apartment, get a dog.

It's wrong to make a cat stay inside.
