Gonna be honest with you, I trust reviwers more than Youtube nowadays. Youtubers and public reviewers just hate on anything critics like and vice versa. They say provocative things like, "Does X mean the end of company Y?", "X worse game in entire series!", or "25 reasons X is inferior to Z" just for clicks. I mean, I take critical reviews with a grain of salt, but it's better than the alternative.

Single player games are the objectively best.

Nier, MGS2, Planescape, Baldurs Gate, shmups, etc.

Timeless games are single player.

It seems they all have the same consensus, that the game shouldn't have been released in its current state. I mean theres the safe space over on /fo76/ but the game is being shredded and seems to have gone under a lot of peoples radar, hell it wasn't even the top game on Twitch on its launch day and dropped down to like #8 already despite being released for like 2 days... very disappointing.

Won't be surprised if we never get sales numbers, or Bethesda goes "we sold 300 million in the first 24 hours" and never mentions sales or playercount again lol

For the game itself? It's decent. Like you said, it was clearly rushed out the door. I'm not sure why, honestly. The system that is there, however, is great. It's just lacking content. I feel like it will be amazing in a few months. It'll probably keep going on a cult basis and get some more publicity in a few months when they drop some more content.

>reuses tons of FO4 assets
>spruces up the lighting and texturing to not look like just a FO4 mod
>no NPCs
>story driven by audio tapes
>entire gimmick of the game just piggybacks off of games like DayZ, The Forest, Rust, Conan Exiles, etc

There is zero innovation here. I can't believe the defenders of this game claim Bethesda is trying something new

You'd think Beth would have learned from the last time they tried to make a multiplayer title.

I heard that PvP is initiated like a duel and that there is no strong motivation to do it at all. Can anyone playing the game confirm that?

Someone shot me after we did an event, the game let me know i was shot and we both continued about our business. It doesn't give an incentive for PvP at all therefore I didn't waste my time with it.

Basically, the first shot shows someone you want to duel. If they don't attack you back, and you kill them, you get a bounty that is paid out of your own money. Basically, playerkillers become targets. It's actually a pretty cool system, honestly.

Ok, thanks for the info. I dont have a negative or positive feeling about this either way at the moment, so Im going to wait a few months and see how it works out. I am just curious about the multiplayer because thats the focus now.

Yeah, if you are on the fence, definitely wait. So long as the game makes enough to get continued support, I think it will be quite fun in a few months. As it is now, it's going to have a cult following, but it focuses on a few divisive systems and ideas that are not going to be everyone's cup of tea.

I rented this on RedBox to see if it's at least passable.

But I just don't see the point. This game is probably gonna feel awful coming right off of RDR2 and I'll probably go back to playing that after an hour.

The game MIGHT be worth picking up in a year or two if they fix bugs(haha, couldn't keep a straight face for that one) but as it is now... nah man. They also need to either patch in random encounters and NPCs or give us a wealth of content soon cause right now it's just as pointless as ARK without any dlcs

its more about sustained population than initial burst. Doesn't mean anything to them if they make 100mil day one and theres like 3k people playing in a month or two

In today's society people play games on their own time and tend to do a lot of things alone. Bethesda should have made online optional.
