It's meant to be a very long, very complex book. Think Gravity's Rainbow, or Against the Day. I want this to be the best thing I've ever written. I have doubts, though. I've done a lot of planning, but that can only take you so far. I really like proper, sophisticated books, but there are very few of them to use as a blueprint or whatever for this. I've done some overwhelming projects before, this might be the hardest yet. The length, between about 800 and 1,000 pages, I suspect, combined with the sheer complexity of it. Writing is a lot of fun, though.
