I vote no as I believe the best results from the populace come from giving them incentive to do their bests. Socialism offers little incentive to do great work.

It isn't feasible in the long term. The only country which has a decent socialist program is Norway and that is because of the profits they get from OPEC. Otherwise, it wouldn't feasible there.

It's OP.

So it barely survives several times where it should have died?

The tendency towards command economy is undeniable.
Just look at Venezuela, right now, or even France.

It has that tendency because it is inherent in Marxism. The Communist Manifesto isn't a long read at all and explicitly states what the goals are.

We don't have unchecked capitalism. There are regulations in place. And as needed we can remove and add regulations, break up monopolies, etc.

When a visit to the ER for a broken toenail costs 50 million dollars, I don't know what you can call that other than unchecked capitalism.

That is called taking advantage of highly available services that are expensive because of high availability, when you should have just gone to an urgent care center or your clinic down the street.

And it's also called no competition because of hospital administrators working together to block competition.

That's literally a big part of unchecked capitalism. A completely free market wouldn't work like the dreamers think it would. Human greed would interfere and cause the big companies to keep down the little guys.

Most of the big companies from 30 years ago lost their market dominance to new entrants. Competition is definitely a thing and anti-trust laws exist to break up monopolies that stifle competition.
