I go to the one manned cashier line and still get out before the self checkouts. Those fucking machines malfunction every other item, they suck.

Nobody around here wants to use self checkout though. So you end up having half of them empty, and the remaining registers lined up into the aisles. I don't think Wal Mart will have as much success with self checkout this decade than it hopes it will.

Too many fucking loser-ass bums stealing from the one here so they took them out. It's pretty funny. They got rid of them in like under a year iirc. I hate doing to walmart though. I feel like I'm gonna get hep c

Most Walmarts rarely seem to have all lanes open, or even close to it, particularly in busy times.

They still manage to have half the lanes closed. But they really don't want to leave their checkouts up to me.

that happened in my area as well. they still have self checkout but close them down after like 10 pm because trashy people kept stealing late at night

I was going to say I want them gone but not bad enough to become a thief. Then I remembered piracy. Then I imagined myself downloading my groceries.

My area has had them for a while, Always in use. People hardly use the actual person option anymore here.

Its always older people using the self checkout and theyre slow as fuck and buying a whole cart full of things.

I just go to the regular checkout line.

At Wal-Mart that means more registers will be open. I kid but Wal-Mart is known for keeping half their manned registered closed when the store is busy. More self check outs make things sound better.

I just go to the regular checkout line.

I have never experienced that. Every store I have ever been to with self check out they are limited to the express lane.

I remember a time when almost all of their registers were open, like a decade ago. I don't know why they continued to retain all of them for so long, I guess just holidays?

Same here. You just have to know how to use them. People who bring an entire cart of stuff to the self checkout ruin it for everyone.
