This is how today went:
5:15 - wake up, drink coffee, brush teeth, take a dump
5:45 - cardio
6:25 - get ready for work
7 - leave for work
5pm - get home from work
5:15 - start lifting weights
6:30 - finished showering, made dinner
7:15 - finished dinner, did the dishes

Now from 7:15 - 9 I have 1 and a half hours to study before I have to sleep if I wanna wake up at 5:15 again.

I guess 1.5 hours is okay but If I didn't work out, I could've put in like 4 solid hours today.

Then my sleep goes down to 7 hours and Im way more susceptible to getting tired and sleepy in the middle of my day. I prefer not to OD on coffee. With just 1 morning cup, I am still able to get deep refreshing sleep.

Are you old? Seriously not trying to brag but Im fine with just 6 hours of sleep. No coffee neither, Im not against it for any reason other than I just dont like the flavor and I never really needed caffeine.

Wake up early and go for a run in the blistering cold, come home all hot and sweaty and wash it off with a cold shower. Thats my caffeine.

You really think someone would do that? Go on the Internet and tell lies?

i'm 29. I can function on little sleep but over the course of bout 2-3 weeks my work becomes compromised because I can't mentally function as optimal as I would with 7-8 hours of sleep/night. I'm just not as mentally sharp. Theres plenty of studies out there on sleep habits, perceived need of sleep vs actual sleep, and your quality/productivity of work. You can get less sleep and feel fine, and you may think you're working well but in reality you're making far more mistakes than you would be if you got a full nights sleep.

In the clinic they do. I'm a resident and right now I'm on a daily clinic rotation for the next 4 weeks. And if you knew how to read you'd see that I wrote that I left for work at 7 and got home at 5, which means actual work/clinic hours are 8 to 4. I go half an hour early to get started. Usually I'm always staying late but today was a chill day where I actually got to leave at 4:30.

Huh, guess it just varies from person to person because my mind is razor sharp on the days I wake up at 4. My productivity is tip top, both my GPA and my manager will tell you.

If I sleep 7, 8, or more hours I feel sluggish and can only think about how comfortably I slept and going back to bed.

Anyways, try reading over notes on your phone and listen to them as you work out.
