I don't think I was even listening to anything back then. I didn't listen to music much until my late teens, in the mid-2000s.

For the great annihilator tour, 1995.

At the old 9:30 club in DC... back when it was a basement.

I was really into Sonic Youth, who toured with the swans, which is why I went to see them... was still one of the best shows Ive seen.

i was 10 years old in 95, my ass was listening to oldies on the radio.

i remember scanning through radio stations and not really enjoying much but oldies, i think the first real genre of music i enjoyed that i discovered on my own was surf rock from the 60s.

most of the older family in my life were listening to 60s and 70s rock, occasionally i'd hear jazz from my grandfather and my mother was always listening to some really bad praise and worship. my father would often listen to grunge.

basically i think i wasn't really fond of grunge at the time, i hated the praise and worship but i enjoyed the rock and jazz.

I had a similar upbringing by I learned to appreciate OLD country, swing music, big band and the crooners as well.

Mostly video game music. I'd set the sound test to a BGM and just jump around like a crazy person. I didn't listen to pop until the late 90s.

I had some novelty albums based on shows and stuff on cassette though. Like the Simpsons album, Ren 'n Stimpy had a Christmas album, etc.

I had seen Aerosmith in concert twice by the time I was 10. It was an active listening thing for me.

My mom listened to a lot of Tom Petty, Alanis Morisette, Beegees, and generic women pop singers. My dad listened to a lot of White/Rob Zombie and Beastie Boys.

I ended up still liking Petty and Zombie, but everything else was whatever came on TRL (mainly boy band shit). I remember seeing Marilyn Manson's "The Dope Show" and telling my mom he was one of my new favorites and she flipped out because he was a "devil worshipper."

I was twelve in the mid 90s but was just starting to explore music for myself. Didn't really like the two radio options, couldn't just go buy physical media, and didn't have the immediate global access to anything and obsession with music that I do now, so it was a mix of the videos on MuchMusic, occasionally convincing my parents to get a bunch through BMG, the occasional daytrip to the city and a cd purchase, and friends. It would include stuff like

Mortal Kombat Original Soundtrack
Green Jelly
Kris Kross
Ace of Base
Aerosmith
Barenaked Ladies
MuchMusic's Big Shiny Tunes
MuchMusic's Dance Mix
Go Simpsonic with The Simpsons
No Doubt
The Smashing Pumpkins
Offspring
Our Lady Peace
Radiohead
Weird Al
Salt N Pepa

We had dial-up in the mid-late 90s and I would download lots of short audio clips from TV shows and movies, and MIDI video game music.

My parents were psychos about what the youngest two listened to so I was only allowed to listen to the Beatles and other 60s radio for awhile, but when my older brother and sister were blaring Nirvana, Bone Thugs, and whatnot I just stole their CDs when they'd leave. So it was basically all Beatles, Mamas & Papas, Animals, and then my siblings got me into Nirvana, BSB, 2pac,Bone Thugs, Snoop Dogg, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Alice Cooper, No Doubt, and Guns N Roses somewhere right in the middle of the 90s
