Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

If she made it up, she should be thrown in jail. If that's what the investigation found, there should be criminal charges.

The investigation won't have "found" that because the investigation and the report it generated aren't meant to draw any conclusions, it's up to the people reading it.

It's like you didn't even listen to the initial hearings or anything, and you completely missed Republican senators citing Joe Biden's comments during the Anita Hill hearings about how an investigation doesn't reach a conclusion.

Kavanaugh isn't a far right republican. Amy Barrett from Trump's shortlist is, though. Even WaPo called Kavanaugh the "most conventional pick":
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2018/07/05/the-best-argument-for-and-against-each-trump-supreme-court-candidate/?utm_term=.5f19baa6371e
PRO: The other odds-on favorite alongside Barrett, appellate judge Kavanaugh might be the most conventional pick. Kavanaugh has two Yale degrees, experience in both the George W. Bush administration and the Justice Department, and a 12-year history of decisions on a federal appeals court. He is reportedly a favorite of White House counsel Donald McGahn, who is running the selection and confirmation process for the White House.

Kavanaugh also wrote in 2009 that presidents should be insulated from investigation and lawsuits while in office a view that could endear him to a president who faces multiple legal issues of his own.

CON: That long history of decisions could be 53-year-old Kavanaugh's biggest liability. While he has the stamp of approval from the Federalist Society, conservatives have raised concerns about a few of those decisions being a little too wishy-washy, including one on the Affordable Care Act. The fact that Kavanaugh clerked for Kennedy probably won't help on that front.

Perhaps most problematic: Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) is reportedly cautioning against choosing Kavanaugh. It's one thing for the pick to have to win over Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska); it's another if Paul were to balk. That could actually imperil the nominee in a party-line 51-49 Senate.

Kavanaugh shouldn't be a Supreme Court Judge regardless of his political views.

Seeing it as a "Victory for the Republicans!" if he gets that spot just to spite liberals is madness.

Finds evidence (RNC):

"He was a teen, come on"

"What about Bill Clinton"

"It's all circumstantial"

"Why did she wait until now?"

"It doesn't matter because it's past the statute of limitations"

"The Deep State is in cahoots with the Democrats to defeat our Lord and Savior Donald Trump!"

Unfortunately I find the parties rather predictable. Just figure out what their agenda is and extrapolate their response based on the circumstances.

Behind the scenes, they actually have teams specifically tasked with developing slogan-like talking points. The goal is to decrease critical thinking.

This ordeal has set precedent that merely not being a rapist makes you fit to serve on the Supreme Court. One team thinks they're sticking it to the other team by appointing one of their puppets since he can't be proven to be a rapist. And this is supposed to be an impartial court backed with integrity.

There is no good reason for Kavanaugh to be on the bench.
