I don't mean all challenges. I mean something you are really passionate about. Something where consequences of taking on that challenge is very minimal but you still refuse to do it? There are so many things you can apply this to but I'll use a recent example for me.

I'm an Xbox player and M&KB support was announced by Microsoft. I'm also a big Overwatch fan. I went on the official forums and made a topic about crossplay with PC and Xbox. Without going into full details, I just said that Blizzard can let Xbox players with controllers play only with Xbox players and M&KB Xbox players can cross play with PC players. I also said Xbox players with controllers can crossplay with PC IF THE CHOOSE TO.

For some reason most people getting caught up on the optional route of an Xbox player with a controller competitively going against a PC player. They said it shouldn't be allowed because controller players have no chance and it's not fun getting your teeth kicked in.

I don't understand.... Why are people so afraid of a challenge? I'm a mid Diamond player on Xbox which is top 10%. People say I'll be a Gold player which is around 50% of the community. I want to prove myself. If I get crushed? Good. It's a challenge for me to get better. I love challenges like this but people seem too afraid of challenges these days even if it's about something they are passionate about. Why?

If you beat someone that's using a keyboard and mouse while you're using a controller, it's almost certain that you're a lot better than the other player. The amount of time it takes to turn a full 360 is enough to show how bad of an idea it'd be.

I don't have a problem with this, especially since it's optional and that there's already an option to crossplay with PC players if you're using KB&M

I guess the only problem here is that PC players don't want people like you on their teams and don't want to risk it to see if you're actually good enough to hang with them

Is it a bad idea to competitively Place shooters on/against PC players with a controller? Yes. However, what's wrong with taking up that challenge if you choose to do so?

Because at the end of the day, people are self serving. They don't care if you are willing to take on the challenge. They care that you could end up on their team and that slightest bit of disadvantage in a game that relies on a team is not something they want to risk. Your potential skill isn't a factor. Anything that would threaten their chances of winning is too big a risk.

True enough but I've seen PC only games where several advanced players just quit the match because the other team was full of people who were so much worse at the game that it wasn't fun.

Imagine how annoyed PC players will be when they're just lazily picking off controller users. Some would likely even move to a different game.

I think the issue here is they arent passionate about a video game, they just want to do play it for entertainment, not to spend their time getting destroyed and getting better. Not everyone is willing to go through the amount of Cheeto bags it takes to become elite at a game.

The best part about this, I'll need to go into some detail here, is that Blizzard can fix that problem too. PC players are capable of having multiple accounts because stats don't carry over between servers. If you play on American Servers and decide to play on U.K. servers then your stats don't carry over. You have completely seperate stats and levels in the U.K. server vs the American server. You can do that with players that do cross play vs players that don't. Doing this means that when you do your placement matches, you end up getting placed depending on your actual skill. If you were Platinum on Xbox with a controller and you're trash on PC with a controller then you will get placed much lower than Platinum

That's fair. That's why it's optional.

Yea. We deal with them all the time. I honestly believe if they do this M&KB usage against controllers would drop significantly. That's just my opinion though
