this is being called their most important and ambitious season they have done in the history of the show. and it will have crossovers and cameos with past seasons as you can see glimpses of in this trailer. you'll spot witches from season 3 and that man in the latex suit from season 1. if you like the show at all in anyway, you should not dare miss this season. if you only watched one season of the show, it should be this one

Based on what I've seen, it has the potential to be the best or the worst season of the show yet.

I haven't paid attention to AHS since Coven and I remember everything past the first episode being trash.

I do need to finally watch the first and second seasons though. I'm looking forward to this btw.

last year's Cult was good. the actor that played the cult leader was an amazing actor. and his sister is played by Carrie Fisher's daughter.

I skipped the last season. Was that any good? The focus on politics made me lose interest.

actual real world politics was kinda just a tool to progress the plot but it ends up not having much to do with what goes on. Trump never appears on the show as a character. and they actually end up mocking both liberals and conservatives.

They mock both, but liberals definitely get the better end of the deal.

I'm pretty sure the entire season made the point that liberals aren't as bad as conservatives, they do a lot of the same shit and are aimed towards going down that same path.

Did AHS ever get scary?

I gave up on it halfway through the asylum season after Anne Frank showed up and I was like "well, that's enough stupid for me today"

And yeah I'm aware it wasn't really her, but I wouldn't have put a lame twist like that past the show.

Are the last two seasons worth it? I haven't caught up since Hotel, and I've been wondering about them. I actually really liked Hotel. In my opinion, Murder House was fun but cheesy, Asylum was good but can be a bit over-rated, Coven was good but a radical departure from the horror theme, Freakshow had lots of potential but totally fucked it up early on and spent way to much time showcasing Jessica Lange (who, in my opinion, played the same character in ever single series), and Hotel was a cheesy throwback to the B-movies of my youth and I absolutely loved it.

They are all schlocky and they all have some really huge pacing issues (especially since every single one wraps up the story in the second last episode and makes the last episode a long ass epilogue), but I love them anyway because it's basically a loving tribute to every genre of horror you can think of. I wasn't too keen on Roanoke because I hate the format and the shows it is based off of, and I just missed the boat on Cult.

Roanoke is good, though it does suffer HARD from that epilogue thing you mentioned.

Cult is alright and doesn't actually have that problem. Its last episode is epilogue-y, but its also fairly climactic.
