DanHarenChamp 08/11/18 12:36:15 PM #48:	From what I've gathered from discussions with urologists, rectal exams are only useful if the psa is also elevated, otherwise it's been shown to not improve mortality. And even checking the psa is controversial. Ultimately the recommendation is to discuss on a case by case basis the risks and benefits of checking. If they hve a family hx or are African American i push alil harder towards doing it.
