me: all i have to look forward to in life is watching the new mission impossible
him: wish my life were as boring as yours
me: it is, you're just too oblivious to realize it
him: i have a vagina rotation and a project i'm working on passionately with 20 people
me: it wouldn't be oblivious if you realized it, the futility of life is lost on most people...ignorance is bliss

my stance is that there is no meaning to life and all the things people do to assign meaning to their life (work, kids, girls, etc) is just a means of tricking your biology and mind into thinking it matters. sex tricks your body into thinking you're replicating your DNA, kids trick your brain into thinking your purpose is that they grow up, etc. ultimately you'll all die, your kids will probably grow up to be little shits and then the universe will end and nothing matters.

yes, i didn't include it but that actually is usually the last line when talking about this with people. but again, that doesn't stop the futility and ultimate bore of life. of course, it's better than the alternative by far, but don't go pretending your life has some great meaning behind it, especially when it's sleeping with 7/10s and a project that you've spent 10 years on that isn't making any money so your parents still have to support you

I feel like I can relate to this. My entire life has just been a series of "If I can just get this one thing I want, I know I will be happy and fulfilled." Then I get it and I'm neither of those things. So I move onto the next thing, and the next thing. Now I'm older and there's not really much left in life that I can experience that's "new." It's basically just going through the motions at this point and knowing that nothing can ever truly give my life meaning.

If I could legit have one wish granted I would just want to be a kid forever. Everything seemed so shiny and full of wonder back then. Everything was brand new, it always felt like an adventure. You also didn't know what the world was like.

Needless to say, I don't talk to friends or family about myself or my personal feelings much. >_>

I love my children and my responsibilities. I pay my child support because it's my duty to my children. I did not get a fair deal, but I pay it because it's the right thing to do. My life is good. I own my house, I have a good wife, my children are wonderful. I worked hard for 25 years before I became ill, and I will die knowing that they will have every opportunity to succeed.

I don't have to post lies on message boards to feel good about myself, because I have succeeded. I'm not jealous of you, I don't need to be. I have actually done many of the things that you claim, but I have no need to brag, because I have already won at life, and I realize that there are more important things than telling fake stories to strangers on the internet.

Honestly, I feel sorry for you. It must be so sad and lonely to be a person whose life revolves around posting obvious bullshit on a dying gaming website. The amount of self-delusion required to keep up this gimmick and think that anyone really believes you must be staggering. i meant statistically impossible for 2 people to accomplish what i have lol. for starters you'd have to be an engineer and a pick up artist.

you realize it's 8:25 pm right....clubs/bars don't get going for another 3 hours. and even if it were later, i'm allowed to take a night off if i want to to watch a movie or get some work done.

not lying, it's just that people here (and in life in general) sleepwalk through their careers and relationships. so when i talk about how i supercharged my life to excel in engineering and with hot girls, most people just don't want to believe it. because if they did believe it, it means that since i could do it, they could also do it if they applied themselves. but unfortunately applying yourself takes work and no one wants to do work because they're so used to sleepwalking through their life. it's called resisting the paradigm shift.
