Theres multiple officers there with every weapon imaginable to end this in a different way. Cops judt think irl is cod and they have to drown someone in 18 shots to kill hi.

tbf, this is the ONE instance I've seen where they actually did have a different weapon on hand. It just didn't do anything.

That wasn't anyone's plan to shoot the hostage. The only immediately clear option was to shoot, she was unfortunately hit. Maybe the other cops shouldn't have fired, but shots needed to be fired.

Yeah, if it was a fucking sniper. They said fuck it, shoot em both and call it a day.

At least one officer had to shoot. What other option was there?

"Bobby fired!? Everybody unload your clip!"

She was on a walker dude. Looked old. She's probably terrified between crazy with a knife on one side, cops with guns on three others, and froze in fear. She surely didn't look like someone who could make a hasty retreat from the danger.
