Im on a planet with a group of sentient plants that you can take these super rare pearls from. Everytime you do, the sentinel drones freak out and try to kill you. Theres even a dog like sentinel drone that hunts you.

It dropped me onto a planet where I died to toxin within a few seconds. Then I tried to fix the graphics because it defaulted to 30FPS lock then it crashed

Just start over. They revamped a lot of shit and story missions will give you vehicles/freighters/base stuff

NMS at launch was a phenomenal core experience with absolutely no reason to keep playing. It had the core exploration experience down better than almost any game in its (admittedly limited) genre had ever done, but no real reason to do it.

I'm impressed that Hello Games actually tried (and apparently succeeded) to make things right. Considering the backlash they got at launch, I had assumed they were gonna pack up and close.

Also, the whole concept of adding actual factions with quests and progression, combined with permanent bases and whatnot, really gave some purpose to the exploration.

if concerned, try it on guest account first to see how it plays so it doesn't leave a 0% trophy list on your account.
for some they don't really care for completion percentages let alone platinums.

You can delete a 0% off your trophy list, which is cool.

OT hows the 3rd person camera? The perspective change has me interested as I prefer 3rd person games to 1st.

It does drop frames more often than before but it's not super awful

Really? I got planted on a frozen hellhole of a planet with constant blizzards where you couldn't see shit.

The weather and terrain are both much, much more detailed than before.

The scanner now shows you whether you've discovered something or not by marking it red for undiscovered and green for discovered.

The scanner also shows you important things like artifacts and other shit in your vicinity. Thank god
