If they like both games that tells you that they are an open-minded individual who is able to appreciate an intricate plot even without gameplay at times, as well as the critical thinking skills to determine that a game is good even if it doesn't give a happy go lucky breakdown of previous games.

If they hate both games that tells you that they are governed by feelings of nostalgia and hand holding, likely to freak out if things don't go according to plan, as well as a significantly higher chance of being a domestic abuser.

If they like only one of the games that tells you that their name is Two Dee

Xenogears looks good, and I might purchase it for my PS Vita sometime for $10. Not too interested in Chrono Cross having played some of the way through before. Not a fan of a bazillion pointless generic "characters"

I'm not sure I understand the stance on this. If you like one but not the other how can you have bad taste? Personally I find both games to be amazing and my post was a purely hypothetical scenario.

I only made it about 1/3 of the way through xenogearz. I was so completely decimated by a boss that I started to think it was a scripted loss until the game over popped up. I didn't have the time to grind high enough to stand a chance so I stopped playing.
