I mean it is a legitimate question whether the president as the head of the executive branch should be required to turn over documentation to an inferior executive officer, when the Constitution empowers the Presidency to act as the chief law enforcement body in the nation.

Calling his views support for a dictatorship is a little hyperbolic.

It makes sense, however, for that absolute authority to be suspended if the president himself is the one under investigation. Otherwise you get the "presidents can't obstruct justice" and "if the president does it, it's not illegal" mentalities.

Gotta balance things out. Obama appointed radicals so we need strong people who will protect the rights that Obamas appointees are tasked with ruining.

Obama did not appoint radicals. Trump is doing that, in some cases even putting up people who have 0 judicial experience up for judicial appointment nominations

Makes sense, as Trump had zero political experience prior to being elected.

from how I understand it, he came to this conclusion because of how affected the presidency was during the Clinton administration and has implied that 9/11 may not have happened if Clinton hadn't been dragged into proceedings
he also made these comments during the Obama admin

But the question is if you are granting Congress executive authority, which it is not empowered to hold under the Constitution thus breaking our norm of the separation of powers.
