GameCube controller don't work on the Switch.

The joycon controller is designed almost identical as the GameCube controller, with the X and Y buttons being closer to the assembly of the SNES controller

... huh? You can use the Gamecube Adapter on them and just plug in regular Gamecube controllers, if that's what you're asking.

EDIT - As for what games make use of that, probably just Smash later in the year.

I believe Nintendo is re-releasing the GameCube controllers for the new Smash and yeah I believe they're the same.

If you have no use for em sell the controllers. Competitive Smash players are always looking for older controllers.

Yeah, I saw they're re-releasing the "Gamecube Controller" so that's why I was like "Wait is it just an actual Gamecube controller?"

They're only $40 new in Canada but hey money is money <_<

They'll be the same as the re-release for Wii-U, which probably means some people won't like the Z button. Competitive Melee players didn't like the re-release cause like, only half of them did what they wanted the Z button to do?

The WiiU ones were and the Switch is I believe going to use basically the same adapter, so I'd assume so.
