The gameplay is awesome but aesthetic/ setting/ theme is so... alluring. Some good backstory, although to get all of the story details I had to watch prepare to try playthrough on YouTube. It was, by far, the easiest Souls game to platinum. Everything but the endings could be done in one playthrough, but then you could just upload/download your save file and get all 3 ending achievements on the same playthrough.
