Somewhat true, yeah. Although they introduce yet another new character, Athena, in Dual Destinies, and she's a much better character than Apollo; to the point I was kind of disappointed when her only case in Spirit Of Justice was a relatively short filler case. I wouldn't like to see her outright replace Phoenix as such, but I wouldn't mind a one-off game dedicated to her, or even just for her to have a bit more prominence in the main games.

Apollo actually REALLY grew on me in AA5 and 6. I pretty actively disliked him for being such a nothing in AA4, but the other two helped him a lot.

If his arc is done and he's mostly out of the series, I can accept it because it would be a solid ending for him. I definitely wouldn't mind having him hang around in the future, though.
