I just finished Battle Tendency and it might have been the best anime I have ever seen. I'd definitely recommend starting from the beginning.

Might as well. Part 1 is like 9 episodes, then the next 17 are part 2.

First series includes two parts. The first part of it is short and sometimes considered mediocre, but the second part is arguably the best.
