Its a great sci-fi until it genre flips and becomes a monster/horror movie.

Yeah the ending when it became monster/horror driven was a let done. Until then it was great. I still love the movie though. I think it they would have followed the horror vibe for longer at the end, it would have been great. Or if they teased it some earlier, so it wouldn't seem so out of place...
