Current Events > just bought Hollow Knight for PC. did I make a big mistake?

I decided not to buy a Switch + Octopath Traveler because I don't want to spend all that money simply to then waste a shit ton of time.

But I want to scratch my gaming itch a bit, so I decided to compromise with myself and buy something highly reviewed I can play on my laptop. >_>

If you've got an xbox controller for said PC, you're fine. I've never tried playing with keyboard and mouse >_> Doesn't sound very fun.

You really want a controller with this game, even on a superior PC experience

Nah man. Its a great game and you get awesome bang for your buck. The main quest should take you 30-40 hours if you play blind.

I did play it on Switch, not PC, fwiw

I've played it on both PC and Switch and they're identical, other than the Switch version being inherently more portable. Use a controller if you're on PC though, imo.

naw, not gonna spend $400 for a switch + Octopath Traveler because then I'll want to buy more games for it to justify the $300 console, but then I'll play way too much which has the side effect of taking up time from other things.

Is it weird that I don't consider longevity to be bang for the buck? I prefer amazing but short games like To The Moon or God of War 3 or etc. Because I don't want to spend more than 20 hours on a game these days.

That is a little odd, but I understand that a lot of long games have a bunch of subpar padding to add to their length. Hollow Knight gripped me throughout though, it didnt feel padded. I feel you about it being difficult to fit longer games into a busy life schedule too.

I played about half an hour of it and I'm still waiting for it to get fun.

Didn't find the art style appealing when I saw the screenshots and, not surprisingly, I still don't like it in-game.
