I feel like you have to suffer to truly feel an accomplishing high.
I've never felt as good in my life as the day I got into a top college. All that hard work and finally seeing it come to fruition was such an amazing feeling. But it was like 4 years of hard work for like a week of feeling good. Another amazing moment was when I was going through software engineer interviews last year. It two months of stress and hell, and when I finally got an offer at a prestigious company, I felt a similar high, but it only lasted a few days. It just feels like life is filled with these long periods of stress and misery, and overcoming it for an immense feeling of unrivaled euphoria. Like just being content and being set for life isn't very satisfying to me. While I don't feel stressed or miserable, I don't feel good either. I need the feeling of accomplishment to truly feel euphoric. It really sucks. I wished the euphoria lasted longer than just a few days. This isn't just with life goals; it's with everything: video games, weightlifting, dating, etc. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!
