Oh man what a platinum. If I had known what a grind it would be I might not have gone for it.

First off, I love this game. I beat it a few times over the years but never had access to the international edition so that was a fun change. Expert sphere grid let me do some silly things like send 5 characters down Rikku's path. I had a great time in the main game and the early end game (except the most tedious minigame, guess which one).

I had never bothered to do the monster arena stuff before and I had no idea what a grind it is to get fortune spheres and fill out the sphere grid. Talking about 40 hours of just non-stop grinding for items to customize equipment and so on, just to be able to beat the dark aeons. Got boring pretty quickly. On the positive side, got lots of podcast listening in.

When it finally came time for Penance I had enough of the game, so I threw all my gil at Yojimbo and uninstalled.

Congrats! FFX is my favorite game and I would like to platinum it, but the tedium is quite a big turn-off

The Chocobo races were bad but I lucked out and did them in an hour. I hear it takes some people days and weeks

I actually think the worst thing about completing that game is filling out the sphere grid, since it's pretty much required to take on the super bosses.

One of the last things I did today was finish filling out the sphere grid for Auron and Lulu and it was incredibly boring even with AP tricks. Moving 3 spaces and spamming x to light up the spheres is really really dull.

At the end I missed a sphere somehow and couldn't figure out who or what. I bribed a Maelspike for an Attribute sphere and then looked which character could use it; turned out I missed an HP sphere with Kimahri.

You lasted longer than me. I went all Zanmato starting from like Dark Shiva!

Grinding Fortune Spheres was just not happening >_>
