I don't fault them for it since his gimmick changes pretty regularly. But it's less subtle these days, which means people aren't really absorbing the words and just reacting to face value. Which is actually kind of funny, and I hate to give TC credit for that.

Christ almighty. Jobs where you work 40 hours slaving away in manual labor or data entry or fuck all aren't meant to be jobs you keep. A lot of people do, sure, but they're dumbasses. You should view your first job with a company as an investment in yourself. Show a company what you're worth, put in the work, meet or exceed your expectations and constantly keep trying to advance, reaching for the next goal and the next goal. Always make yourself that employee that's hard to replace, establish value. Be a jack of all trades so you get to move around. That's your first step toward asking for promotions, raises, etc. And if a company's not giving you what you want, remember that your skills and your labor are a product. Find another company that's paying more, offer your current employer a chance to up the ante and if they don't, you move forward with the new company instead. Don't be one of those types that sits on the same job for years and years.

Nah I call off a few times a month and nothing ever happens. Plus I talked to the account manager last night and he was just laughing at how drunk I was. I had a ton of homework to get through so I decided a day off was necessary. Still gonna put in 60 hours this week.
