just so much content in it. i wonder if they're gonna remake gen 2 for switch next. although i wish hey you pikachu was more true to the series. hopefully they learn for the next game.

HG/SS > Platinum > B2/W2 > OR/AS > XD

Lumping together remakes and third versions with the originals isn't fair because those originals drag the newer ones down.

US/UM are my personal favorites. The totem pokemon are more challenging than most gyms and were a good departure. Ride pokemon instead of HMS was cool. Aloan forms, z-crystals, and ultra beasts were all nice additions. Were well paced and seemed to have more variety of pokemon earlier in the game.

I cant really decide because they all have strengths and weaknesses.

Sun/Moon finally got the HM thing right. We just dont want to have a 5/6 party, at all times, because we need an HM slave. I also liked how they showed whether or not your moves would be effective.

I did not like the post game content for it, however. I just dont understand why they wont make the postgame more like G/S, where you got to visit the original games country.

Omega Ruby might have been my favorite. I really liked the postgame (wasnt that the one where the professor gives you another starter?).

I liked X, but not as much as some of the others. I hated those skates. You couldnt take them off and you basically had to skate awkwardly through the game, or move around with the D pad, which is not really ideal for a 3DS game. I thought it was really cool how they gave you a Gen 1 starter very early on.

One major drawback for Sun/Moon is that you cannot GTS trade with yourself on other generations (X/Y and Omega Ruby). I probably need to replay S/M because I had a party of three starters and I could have really gotten some more variety. I just wish there was more than one legendary available before the elite four.

Edit: I strongly agree with the above poster about Alolan forms. That was really, really cool, IMO. I used Alolan Raichu until I got UBs.

I almost never have an HM slave.

Fly, Surf, Strength, Waterfall, Rock Climb, and Dive are all viable moves for endgame stuff. Cut and Rock Smash, while not great, are still sort of usable if you just to do a bit of chip damage to finish something off. I just do a team of six proper pokemon and spread the HM's out in order to make the most use of them. Maybe one or two slots end up being wasted on a less useful HM, but I have all my team otherwise good to go.

Platinum's the best overall, but it's paired with Diamond and Pearl, which are objectively janky and slow as molasses.

Ive done it that way, too, but sometimes I feel that my moveset are pre determined because of it. If it was the original five, that would be one thing, but I feel like they just keep on adding them

Hg/SS Were great and my favorite, but original GSC is rough now.

Alola games had WAY too many cutscenes

X/Y had a great idea with the variety but the game was so easy it didn't matter.

Platinum is top tier but D/P Were painfully slow

ORAS had great features like dex nav but for whatever I just didn't find it very fun

Crystal is my personal favorite, fuck HGSS

Platinum is probably the best objective choice for a single player focus, and ORAS the best for a multiplayer focus

USUM does some really cool things alongside some really shitty things, B2W2 is solid overall but you really had to be there because of all the shit in Gen V that just doesn't fucking work anymore without Wi-Fi, XY is very fascinating to me with all the wasted potential it intentionally has, RBY is the most fun to speedrun because of how broken everything is, Emerald will always be remembered because ORAS fucked up and ignored pretty much all of the improvements it made which if ORAS had it would've easily been the best Pokemon game period

Aw yeah, nothing beats GSC's post-game. Getting to revisit Kanto with your fully-trained team, battling all the gym leaders, plus Blue and Red. The only thing it was missing was a rematch with Giovanni.

Did not know this. Thats a smack in the face from GameFreak. I swear they like to troll and piss people off and then can hide behind lol its mostly kids who buy it, theyll never know much like a restaurant that runs out of hot dogs and has an employee buy Oscar Meyer trash from the grocery store down the street.

Did they bring back L=A yet?
