Yeah, but we all know the front yard is for looking good and the back yard is for playing in. Front yards do offer addtional space from the roads though, in case some drunk loses control of his car.

Yes, they go play in crappy public parks and get kidnapped while I have my own private, well kept and safe area for my kids to play.

And my dog isnt forced to deal with other peoples shitty, diseased dogs just so he can get some exercise.

Yeah, lawns suck. Growing up, my house's lawn was hideous and patchy due to like a decade's worth of unraked leaves killing almost everything underneath. By the time I was old enough to rake, the damage had been done and it never recovered.

I think that guy has watched too many crime dramas on TV if he thinks his kids are in danger of being kidnapped from parks. He should go outside and maintain his lawn. Be sure to watch out for those diseased dogs everyone owns though

Lawn are the biggest of waste time and resources. Id rather be on the interwebs. If i wanted a lower tier maintaining a lawn job, id work at a fast food place. lawns are ugly by the end of the week. its useless

I don't remember if it was 2015 or 2017 data but there was seriously like 200 kids total in the ENTIRETY of the US that were abducted by a stranger.

Even if you're twice as likely to get kidnapped in a park than you are out of your own yard it's still such a significantly small amount it's not even worth debating.

Honestly, in their own front yard is more likely than the park. There are almost certainly going to be other parents at the park that will notice a non-familial kidnapping. But, if it's just from the yard, there aren't guaranteed to be other parents around or even their own.

That said, both are pretty rare.

I don't know why we've let this topic become about kidnappings. What the fuck does that have to do with lawns?

Actually it seems like the lawn care industry is booming right now because literally no one gets out and mows their own lawn anymore. So it's sort of a lawn renaissance

That and HOAs (if not city ordinances) require your lawn to be a certain height or shorter.
