I have DR1 and 2 for the XBox 360, and have plenty of hours on both of them. If I had to guess, though, I'd say it's been at least 5 years since I played either. I dunno, I wouldn't mind playing again, and I still own both of them.

I never got a chance to play DR3, which was sad, and it looked like a lot of fun. I remember the talk of DR4 being a clusterfuck, and although I didn't play it, based on certain core gameplay elements being removed, it was probably pretty bad.

I think in a way, the series went on too long. 2 games were fine, 3 would've been decent, but more was too much. There's only so much you can do with zombie outbreaks in random American towns, you know? Some of the spinoff stuff, like Off The Record, was ridiculous.

Gah. I remember how hard I found the boss fights in the original were, when I first played it, without having yet leveled up much. So tough.

1 and 2 were freaking amazing. 3 looked meh and 4 looks like utter shit. It does seem like it was in development for only one year as this video makes the case for.

3 is also available on PC if you have a gaming PC. I feel like the games have gotten a bit worse with each one. 4 didn't even seem worth trying.

My issue was how they wanted to go the COD route with browns and realism for 3. The vibrant colors and humor is what set Dead Rising apart from other zombie games. 3 stripped away what made 1 and 2 such classics.
