I haven't gave myself a real challenge in some years. Every game I get I put on easy and just hope its not too bad.

Yes.
Sometimes I play games for the story, sometimes I play them for the gameplay.

Nope. Normal mode is what I play on as that's the way the game was designed to be played. I also like some challenge. Some normal modes are way too easy though. Still I save other difficulties for other runs through the game.

I did when I was a kid. These days, I do normal (but I still do Very Easy in classic Mortal Kombat games and I always do Expert in rhythm games like Guitar Hero/Rock Band, although, I started from Easy, building my way up to Expert and never turned back).

If I'm new to it, I'll put it on easy until either the game prompts me to try a harder difficulty or I decide to turn it up a notch

But for the most part I'm usually on normal or hard
