That's not really what is going on.
He made an off-the-cuff comment that was written awkwardly in the article that is being taken out of context.

The point isn't that women are offended by being approached or that an actor worth $20 million shouldn't be wary of potential golddiggers, it's that normal well-adjusted men don't worry about being called rapists.

For what it's worth, the point he was trying to make is legit. He just jumped to the "being called a rapist" part a little too quickly, but I know what he meant.

Anyways if any feminist idiots actually get mad over what he said then, I just don't even know.

They do in this world. Crazy ex girlfriend can ruin your life.

That doesn't happen nearly as often as you'd think. Men who have healthy thought processes don't worry about a date suddenly turning into a false rape accusation.

Celebrities are particularly vulnerable to this, though. If a regular dude gets accused of rape, he has to deal with like 5 people. If an A-list celebrity gets accused of rape, he has to deal with the whole world. Just look at Aziz.

That's why I said it was an awkward comment that was probably taken out of context.
He should have framed the discussion as something along the lines of "as part of becoming famous, I found my dating pool became smaller. Every time I meet a new woman, there's a tiny part of my brain that tells me that she's only interested in me because I'm Superman. And every time that happens, I want to run and call up an ex who I knew liked me for me."
Because people aren't really criticizing the overall point he was making, just taking issue with the comments he made about #MeToo and being seen as a rapist, which gives off the wrong impression and takes away from his larger point.

They do worry about being called creepy, though, there's nothing abnormal about that worry, and it's actually a sign of reasonable social power being given to women (to counter the physical power differential that is somewhat unavoidable). It's not even that women are doing something wrong.

His word choice was shit, and I doubt anyone would've cared if he had chosen more carefully and accurately.

His larger point was how women that like to play hard to get and women that scream rape after the first 'no' are getting harder to tell apart.

I would argue that sort of behavior shouldn't be rewarded by continuing to pursue that person.

I agree, but most men have a scarcity mindset in which every potentially interested woman must be pursued fully until a clear sign for 'stop' is given.

That's a fair point and I hadn't really thought about power in society like that, but it makes sense
However I don't think Henry Cavill needs to worry about being called creepy and so it feels more like he's been reading some redpill stuff and got it in his head

Sure.

I think there is still a grey area of what is a hard stop for each person. I'm sure we've all come across women like this.

I dated a woman that was a bit rough in bed. It took me a while to learn that she wanted me to continue to pursue her through all of her denials and "no's." It was strange and went against my instincts. Even when I thought I was getting to a hard stop for her, it wasn't.

It just makes it confusing for people, all around.

That's why agreeing on a safe word is important for those kinds of partners.

tbh, every guy needs to worry about being called creepy insofar as they need to be careful not to be creepy

the creepiness equation indicates that a hot dude like him has significantly less to worry about

Creepiness=[Forwardness x Awkwardness / Attractiveness] ^ Persistence

but it doesn't mean he never has anything to worry about. and much as women can fear men abusing their physical power without implying all men do it--and they should, because some do--the same is true of men wrt women and their social power.

Sounds like the same type of attitude we see on CE when a rape accusation is made against a celeb and the usual suspects all line up to try and discredit it right off the bat

girls and women call guys creepy for all kinds of reasons. a shy boy in class who just keeps to himself and reads a book during free time and never bothers anyone can be considered creepy by some girls. no. I mean I agree that there is some things you can do that are obviously creepy. but there is a massive amount of stuff that is totally not a guy's fault that can earn him a creepy label. and many times, it just comes down to if the boy is cute or not. same exact behavior mixed with cutness? ok. mixed with not cuteness? "omg becky that guy is so creepy!"

But when it does it goes pretty much unpunished. At most the woman will get a slap on the wrist while the guy still has to deal with the damage already done. His life will never go back to normal.
